Why Do People Believe So Strongly in Evolution?
Does It Matter?
One of the primary reasons for abandoning faith in God is the widespread acceptance of evolutionary thinking—that everything made itself by natural processes and God is unnecessary. Why does it matter? First of all, it matters because the assumption of evolution is based on a LIE— the greatest deception in modern history.
There is only one unpardonable sin as expressed in John 3:18 (NIV): “Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.” It also matters because removing God and prayer from school and family life, including Christmas and Easter celebration, has led to a collapse of our ethical and moral foundation and is the primary reason for today’s social ills. There seems to be a willful (many would term ferocious) determination by some to turn America into a godless, amoral, secular-humanist society. Most importantly, it matters because our eternal salvation depends on our belief and acceptance of the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior. We are familiar with the Scripture of John 3:16 (NIV), “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
Jesus Christ is our heavenly father from ancient times (from beyond time), “His goings forth are from long ago, from the days of eternity.” (Micah 5:2, NAS) He is the Creator of the heavens and earth and all that exists—and He created a sinless world where everything was perfectly upheld (John 1:1–3; Colossians 1:16-17; Hebrews 1:2-3). This perfection was lost by the rebellion of Adam. Today, we are in a world that “groans and suffers” (Romans 8:22, NAS) because of the Edenic Curse. Unless we let go of our pride and arrogance, and realize that Jesus Christ is our Heavenly Father, we will never understand the significance of His death on the Cross and work of redemption and we will be lost for eternity.
In the Age of Grace, Romans 10:13 (KJV) victoriously announces that “whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved”—it requires just one simple act before God in prayer. By freely accepting and believing in our Creator, the Lord Jesus Christ, anyone, no matter what sins an individual has committed, can obtain the free gift of eternal salvation. Believing the Lord Jesus Christ died and shed his blood for our sins on the Cross is a matter of where you will spend eternity—eternally and everlasting.
Moses said to Israel, “I have set before you life and death … choose life” (Deuteronomy 30:19, NIV).
